Salmon & Trout Association

Formed in 1903, The Salmon & Trout Association (S&TA) is a company limited by guarantee which was granted charitable status in March 2008. S&TA has a UK-wide membership of game anglers, fishery owners/managers, affiliated trades and members of the public with an interest in conserving the aquatic environment and its dependent species.

Scottish Environment Protection Agency

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is Scotland's environmental regulator. Their main role is to protect and improve the environment. SEPA is responsible for the implimentation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) in Scotland and both coordinates and participates in the river basin planning process.

Scottish Fisheries Coordination Centre (SFCC)

The Scottish Fisheries Co-ordination Centre (SFCC) was established in 1997 to meet the need for high quality fisheries information and standard data collection methods in the light of a growing awareness of salmonid decline throughout Scotland.

Scottish Natural Heritage

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) is a Government body responsible to Scottish Government Ministers and through them to the Scottish Parliament. Established in 1992, SNH's role is to look after the natural heritage, help people to enjoy and value it, and encourage people to use it sustainably.

The Country Sports Tourism Group 

It is estimated that the value of country sports tourism to Scotland is in the region of £240m per year. In the UK there are over 4 million country sports participants, with many more overseas including 38 million in the USA.

To help develop the full potential of this market, 2004 saw the major Scottish country sporting organisations and associations set up the Scottish Country Sports Tourism Group (CSTG).

The RAFTS Invasives Species Project

 RAFTS has recognised the importance of the prevention, control or eradication of invasive species and diseases in river catchments and with support from the Scottish Government, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and the Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation has initiated the RAFTS Biosecurity and Invasive Species Programme.
